QEP. Co. Inc is founded in America, committed to excellence in tile installation tools. QEP quickly becomes a leading brand for some of the largest retailers and professional distributors around the world.

QEP goes public! QEP Australia acquires Accessories Marketing & the rights to Roberts Smoothedge, tools, metal trims & underlays.

1996-98

2000

At the turn of the century, QEP establishes operations in Australia, offering the country’s most comprehensive installation and laminate wood flooring line available from one company.

QEP’s journey with Bunnings began with the successful launch of floor and tile trims into their product range. This milestone year also marked QEP’s relocation to a new premises, paving the way for further growth. 

2001

2003-04

Accessories Flooring Supplies is acquired and rebranded as AFS NSW, while Crestwin Trade Supplies is acquired and becomes AFS Victoria. Both are subsidiaries of QEP.

Fyshwick Flooring Wholesale was acquired and becomes part of AFS NSW. AFS undergoes a rebrand!

2005

2010

QEP USA purchases Capitol Adhesives.

QEP takes a major step by launching the supply of underlay products, meeting the increasing demand in the flooring market. The company also expands its product offerings with the introduction of a dedicated builders’ range. 

2011-12

2013

QEP broadens its product range with Bunnings through the launch of plank flooring, offering customers a stylish and durable flooring solution designed to meet modern demands.

QEP acquires Flooring Trade Supplies to become part of AFS NSW & SA. 

2014

2016

This year sees QEP expanding the builders range to Australia and New Zealand with the introduction of Brutus site management products.

The CSO flooring range is introduced in Australia, while flooring products are launched in New Zealand.

2017

2018

AFS expands into QLD with the acquisition of all six PR Floors branches. The acquisition makes AFS Australia’s largest flooring accessory distributor with 20 branches throughout VIC, QLD, ACT, NSW & a roving van in SA

QEP launched builders film as part of its expanding product range in New Zealand, while also securing its position as the category captain in plank flooring across both Australia and New Zealand. 

2019

2021

QEP conducts a full range refresh of aluminium floor trims in both Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, the Spanish tile range Gayafores is launched, bringing premium tile options to both markets. The AFS branch network expands into SA & TAS.

QEP Australasia is established following a change in ownership. Now privately and locally owned by long-term leaders Bruce Maclaren and Tony Lei, the change marks a new chapter in the company’s history.
